Job summary

EFW Radiology is seeking a Facilities Operations Assistant to manage day-to-day maintenance across clinical and administrative spaces. You will perform repairs, coordinate with contractors, and uphold safety and privacy standards to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for patients and staff.

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will support HVAC and other building systems, manage work orders, and contribute to process improvements within a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent.
• Relevant technical training in maintenance, construction and/or mechanical systems will be an asset.
• Hands-on experience with power hand tools and woodworking equipment will be an asset.
• Experience with commercial buildings and new construction will be an asset.
• Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
• Basic knowledge and understanding in various areas such as operations in property maintenance, healthcare setting, technical services, HVAC asset or property facilities plumbing, electrical work, framing and drywall.
• Well-organized with the ability to multi-task and maintain high accuracy in detailed information.
• Motivated, self-starter who can work independently and in a team.
• Sound judgement and the ability to think quickly during emergencies.
• Professional demeanor and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in constructing or repairing commercial buildings or other structures.
• OH&S policies and safe work procedures awareness.
• Organized individual who can work under stress, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with all levels of EFW personnel.

Responsibilities

• Identify maintenance risks and perform repairs.
• Respond promptly and effectively to emergency maintenance repair requests as assigned.
• Identify maintenance risks on equipment.
• Purchase materials for work orders, as required, in accordance with procurement policy.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to complete work orders and address queries.
• Record all maintenance updates and outcomes in the ticketing system.
• Be a brand ambassador when dealing with internal customers and external vendors.
• Identify areas to improve systems and processes that impact facility operations and appearance.
• Support health and safety initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with appliance standards and OH&S acts.
• Comply with service standards, work instructions and customers' requirements.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations.
• Arrange and adhere to privacy and confidentiality policies.
• Undertake other related duties as assigned.
• The Facilities Operations Assistant will be assigned to a combination of functional areas and may be re-assigned as needed.
