Job summary

Dexterra Group is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to lead and develop unionized maintenance staff across a range of building systems in Ontario. You will ensure safe, reliable operation of HVAC, electrical, life-safety systems, and associated equipment while aligning with budgets and regulatory standards.

The role emphasizes preventive maintenance planning, contractor oversight, and continuous improvement through CMMS analytics, workforce development, and strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive facility maintenance or plant operations experience.
• Strong mechanical and HVAC background with ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings.
• Experience supervising unionized maintenance staff.
• Knowledge of building automation systems, life safety, and electrical systems.
• Experience with contractors and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and supervise unionized maintenance staff.
• Oversee operation and maintenance of building systems (HVAC, BAS, boilers, chillers, etc.).
• Plan and coordinate preventive maintenance, repairs, shutdowns, and capital projects.
• Manage contractors and vendors to quality and safety standards.
• Maintain regulatory compliance and proper documentation.
• Monitor inventory and budget for cost-effective operations.
• Support workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, development.
• Use CMMS to track work orders and drive improvements.
• Participate in after-hours on-call and emergency response.
