Job summary

Donna Cona Inc. is seeking a Facilities Manager for a government client in Nunavut on a contract basis. The role requires a relevant engineering or business qualification with Facilities Manager certification, and a decade of experience in building design, operations, and maintenance.

The ideal candidate will supervise trades staff, work independently, analyze maintenance cost data, understand drawings, and manage daily PM and minor works contracts. Class 5 driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Engineering degree, or a diploma and/or a trade certificate in a related discipline or a degree in Business Administration with certification as a Facilities Manager
• Ten (10) years of related work experience as part of a project team involved in building or works design, operations and maintenance or project delivery
• Experience with a variety of building types and sizes or municipal works is required
• At least five (5) years experience in the supervision of trades and technical staff
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to analyse and interpret technical, operation and maintenance cost data
• Ability to understand and interpret building drawings and specifications
• Ability to interpret electronic versions of drawings
• Ability to research, analyze and recommend products and systems
• Developing and administering daily maintenance and Preventative Maintenance (P.M.) and contracts to be implemented within the Regional office
• Identifying and administering annual minor works O & M contracts
• Assigning work orders for routine and emergency repairs
• Knowledge of estimating practices
• Knowledge of technical principals, code compliance, regulations, and policies related to building planning, design and construction
• Knowledge of contract/construction costs and professional responsibilities
• Knowledge of project management, operations & maintenance roles and responsibilities
• Class 5 Driver’s License.

Responsibilities
