Job summary

The Salvation Army London Centre of Hope is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Worker to perform repairs and ensure the building operates safely and efficiently. You will work under the Maintenance Coordinator and Environmental Services Manager on daily tasks around 281 Wellington Street, London, ON.

Responsibilities include inspecting the property, maintaining cleanliness, assisting with maintenance tasks, and following OH&S policies.

Qualifications

Minimum Secondary School Diploma.
Ontario Class 'G' driver's license required.
Background check with vulnerable sector screening required.
First aid is considered an asset.
Experience in general maintenance preferred.
Ability to operate hand and power tools.
Strong organizational, communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Perform repairs and maintenance as requested or assigned by the Maintenance Coordinator & Environmental Services Manager.
Inspect the property and building for signs of damage and report to the Maintenance Coordinator & Environmental Services Manager.
Maintain daily cleanliness of the surrounding property by removing refuse or debris, seasonally shovel and salt walkways as needed and requested.
Assist Maintenance Coordinator as assigned by Environmental Services Manager.
Make suggestions to improve efficiency, working conditions or procedures to the Environmental Services Manager.
Ensure all duties assigned to shift are completed.
