Job summary

Northwood Collection is seeking a skilled handyman to join our maintenance team in the Toronto area. You will handle upkeep and repairs across facilities, including outdoor spaces, machinery, and safety systems.

The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving abilities, is reliable, and can communicate effectively with clients and staff. Experience with plumbing and electrical systems is essential, and you must be able to work with common hardware and power tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years’ experience in a similar handyman role.
• Solid experience with plumbing and electrical systems.
• Ability to work with hardware and power tools.
• Extremely organized with good communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with problem-solving aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic tasks including painting and filling crevices, clean facilities and managing maintenance repairs.
• Repair company machinery, equipment or appliances.
• Detect and report the need for major maintenance repairs.
• Regularly check community spaces to identify issues with litter, mechanical failure or breakdowns.
• Respond to clients' maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Repair plumbing, electrical and safety systems.
• Maintain cleanliness of outside spaces such as parking lots and sidewalks.
• Oversee sprinkler system and trash containers on company premises.
