Earn $30.00 to $45.00 per hour based on experience and shift

The Facilities Maintenance Technician maintains and repairs the facility’s structure, equipment, and grounds, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. Responsibilities include performing skilled trades work such as carpentry or painting, working with manufacturing or process engineering on installation or repair of building plumbing and wiring, and conducting inspections to determine repair needs. The candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to drive projects to completion.

Skills: Completes tasks creatively and effectively as a skilled specialist.

Job Complexity: Works on assignments requiring judgment and initiative, understanding implications, and making recommendations.

Supervision: Determines methods and procedures on new assignments, may act as an informal team leader.

Experience: Typically requires 4-6 years of related experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Coordinate, schedule, and perform Preventative Maintenance activities across multiple facilities.
  2. Maximize equipment uptime (7x24) for facility systems including HVAC supporting cleanrooms, DI water, compressed air, gases, electrical, and plumbing.
  3. Use CMMS software to establish and schedule preventive maintenance activities.
  4. Maintain excellent customer service through work request and work order systems.
  5. Ensure facility systems comply with safety and environmental regulations.
  6. Collaborate with departments to determine infrastructure needs supporting production.
  7. Respond to equipment malfunctions, troubleshooting mechanical/electrical failures.
  8. Work on a compressed workweek schedule (12-hour shifts).

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.

Required:

  • Technical background in facilities operations.
  • Knowledge of Facility building management systems.
  • Specialist in at least one facilities discipline (e.g., OFA, DI water, FMS controls).
  • Organized with effective communication skills.
  • 5+ years’ experience in HVAC maintenance, balancing, assessment, and fabrication techniques.
  • HVAC control systems knowledge.
  • High plumbing and electrical knowledge.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or the community.
  • Effective working relationships with supervisors and co-workers.
  • Positive and customer-responsive attitude.
  • Good judgment in selecting methods and techniques.
  • Ability to interact with senior personnel.
  • Problem-solving and data collection skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions and policies.
  • Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Required skills: HVAC, Electrical, Process piping.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Standing or walking 95% of the day, moderate lifting, frequent use of hands and wrists.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work in wafer fabrication and cleanroom environments, requiring gowning.
  • Moderate noise levels.
  • Exposure to stored energy hazards and chemicals used in wafer processing.

OTHER:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure quality, delivery, and cost controls meet or exceed customer requirements.
  • Comply with Employee Handbook and safety regulations.
