About The Job
The Resident Services Technician reports to the Community Manager and the Resident Services Supervisor. Under supervision, this individual is responsible for assisting in the overall maintenance of the property.
Seeking Beginning to Intermediate Skills
Plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and grounds work knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Participate in all maintenance projects and training classes as directed.
- Perform minor electrical repairs on appliances, fixtures, switches, and outlets.
- Perform minor plumbing work, such as clearing drain stoppages and replacing fittings.
- Replace broken tiles, screens, fixtures, appliances, blinds, and locks.
- Paint interior and exterior surfaces as directed.
- Assist in carpentry tasks like fitting doors, replacing shelves, and refinishing doors.
- Assist in custodial duties including cleaning and window washing.
- Support grounds work and repairs to concrete, masonry, roofing, fencing, and signage.
- Participate in standby emergency schedule with a maximum response time of half an hour.
- Assist in inventory control and maintaining maintenance supplies.
- Keep all storage and shop facilities clean and organized.
- Complete work orders within 24 hours and report status daily.
- Assist in annual apartment inspections and unit turnovers.
- Maintain knowledge of vendor contracts and community conditions.
- Ensure all storage areas and entrances are secure.
- Assist in apartment check-in and check-out inspections.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Possess a valid California Driver's License and insurance or reliable transportation.
- Attend company events and be willing to stay overnight if required.
- Communicate effectively in English or English and Spanish as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Experience
- At least 1 year of relevant experience, preferably 2+ years.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or 3+ years of relevant work and certifications.
Physical Requirements
- Exposure to weather, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, crawling, kneeling, twisting, carrying, and working with hands.
- Driving and operating office equipment.
FSLA: Non-exempt
Pay: $25.00 - $26.00/hr
