Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team. This is a hands-on role responsible for a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks across multiple commercial properties — with a focus on drywall repair, painting, carpentry, tile work, flooring installation, general upkeep, small renovation projects, and preventive maintenance of HVAC/mechanical systems.

The position includes cleaning, garbage pickup, and snow removal as needed, and requires regular travel to properties in Guelph, Milton, London, and Toronto (mileage reimbursement or allowance provided).

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform in-house, high-quality repairs including:
  • Drywall patching and finishing
  • Interior/exterior painting
  • Carpentry (framing, trim, doors)
  • Tile work and flooring installation
  • Minor plumbing and door hardware repairs
  • Execute small renovations and office reconfigurations
  • Conduct preventive maintenance of HVAC and mechanical systems (filters, inspections)
  • Complete cleaning tasks, litter and garbage pickup, snow removal, and curb appeal upkeep
  • Operate power tools and equipment (scissor lift, saws, drills, etc.)
  • Maintain records of maintenance, inspections, and PM work
  • Pick up and transport materials and tools between sites
  • Travel regularly between Guelph, Milton, London, and Toronto properties
  • Communicate professionally with tenants and vendors
Requirements
  • Valid G Driver’s Licence with a clean abstract and reliable vehicle (truck is an asset)
  • Working at Heights certification (required)
  • First Aid/CPR, Fall Arrest, Forklift, Scissor Lift, or Zoom Boom (assets)
  • 3+ years of relevant hands-on experience in construction/property maintenance
  • Demonstrated ability in drywall, painting, carpentry, tile, flooring, and basic plumbing
  • HVAC/mechanical familiarity for basic preventive maintenance
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work independently
  • Computer skills for basic scheduling and documentation (Outlook, Excel, etc.)
