Job summary

The Upper Canada District School Board is seeking a Maintenance I to maintain mechanical, electrical, DDC and related systems across school sites in Ontario. You will oversee work with outside contractors and ensure safety, codes compliance and timely project delivery.

Ideal candidates bring a trade certification or Red Seal, plus a minimum of one year of related experience in institutional maintenance and strong communication skills for coordinating teams and reporting to the Facilities

Qualifications

Secondary school diploma and a 2–3 year technical/engineering diploma or Red Seal certification in a related trade (plumbing/heating/electrical/electronics/DDC).
Minimum of one year related work experience; equivalent education/experience may be considered.
Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

Maintains mechanical, electrical, DDC and electronic systems across board sites.
Inspects plumbing, heating and electrical systems for defects or deterioration.
Meets with inspectors; reviews job permit requirements.
Works with other trades as required; attends staff meetings and provides status reports.
Provides general maintenance services; attends training for upgrades.
Demonstrates good attendance and safe work practices; performs related duties.
