Job summary

Key Industries is seeking a General Maintenance and Labour in Saint John, NB to maintain and repair our facilities. The role includes painting interior and exterior areas, light carpentry, drywall work, and simple renovations to keep buildings safe and well‑maintained.

The successful candidate will work independently, manage daily tasks, and identify maintenance needs. A valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required; good communication and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance, painting, construction, or building repair.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to communicate effectively.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Preparing for and painting various interior and exterior areas in a safe, clean and satisfactory manner.
• Perform minor carpentry repairs to doors, frames, and partitions.
• Perform drywall installation and repairs as needed.
• Identify repairs requiring specialized trades and report them to the supervisor.
• Perform light construction, decks, fencing, and renovations.
• Complete assigned work within established timelines.
• Prioritize tasks based on urgency, safety, and operational requirements.
• Regularly inspect the condition of the building interior and exterior, identifying and reporting any safety concerns, damage, or unsafe conditions to management in a timely manner.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas.
• Perform seasonal maintenance, snow removal, and landscaping.
• Record completed work, materials, and outstanding maintenance issues.
• Communicate professionally with staff, tenants, customers, and contractors.
• Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
