Job summary

RPC is seeking a Facility Assistant in Fredericton to join our building maintenance team. You will help maintain buildings, grounds, and outdoor spaces to ensure a safe, clean, and professional environment.

The role involves physical tasks, operating maintenance equipment, and collaborating with the team as needed. Requirements include a high school diploma, basic computer skills, a Class 5 driver’s license, and 1–2 years in maintenance.

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation required.
• Basic computer skills.
• Class 5 driver’s license.
• 1–2 years in maintenance/facilities/property maintenance.
• Familiarity with safe use of hand tools.
• Experience working on ladders.
• Tolerance for physical lifting.
• Comfortable working independently and in a team.
• Experience with ride-on lawnmowers, push mowers, trimmers, etc.
• Experience painting or basic carpentry an asset.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain RPC's buildings, grounds, and outdoor spaces in a safe, clean, and professional condition.
• Perform physical work, including lifting, moving, and transporting materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Operate and care for landscaping and maintenance equipment.
• Clear snow and ice from walkways, ramps, and entrances to maintain safe access to facilities.
• Inspect, clean, and perform basic maintenance on tools and equipment.
• Work independently and as part of a team to complete daily tasks and respond to operational needs.
• Follow safe work practices and report maintenance concerns or hazards promptly.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
