Job summary

South East Cornerstone Public School Division is seeking a permanent full-time Journeyman Carpenter to service the South Service Area. The role reports to the Facilities Foreman and supports facility upgrades, project planning, and budget management.

Required are a Journeyman Certificate in carpentry, 3+ years in commercial or residential carpentry, WHMIS, and a valid Class 5 license. The wage starts at $46.76/hour with full benefits and a defined pension plan.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or GED is required.
• Valid Journeyman Certificate in carpentry.
• Minimum 3 years of carpentry experience.
• WHMIS 2015 training completed.
• Proficiency with basic MS Office tools.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain preventative maintenance for carpentry facilities.
• Coordinate capital projects and renovations.
• Provide leadership and coaching to staff.
• Maintain rapport with administration, staff, and public.
• Monitor codes, inspectors, and safety practices.
• Supervise contractors and assist in emergencies.
• Prepare reports on budget and planning.
