GENERAL SUMMARY

Reporting to the Plant B CNC & Fabrication Supervisor, the Fabrication Utility Worker is responsible for operating various kinds of machinery for tasks such as sharpening, polishing, and grinding. They will also meticulously sort metal sheets, parts, and scrap materials to optimize production efficiency.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate manual and automatic band saw cutting equipment.
• Operate machinery to perform sharpening, polishing, or grinding of metal work pieces.
• Sort metal sheets, parts, scrap metal and other materials.
• Operate metal shaping machines such metal straightening and bending machines.
• Assist in the maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Operate manual and automatic saw cutting equipment.
• Assist in maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, and sequence of operations.
• Attention to detail.
• Organizational and time management skills with the ability to work quickly, effectively, and multi-task.
• Ability in applying best judgment and practical knowledge when addressing challenges.
• Ability to use basic power and hand tools.
• Ability to work overtime if needed and/or work flexible shifts.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Secondary school diploma or equivalent certificate (GED) is required.
• Manual and automatic band saw operating experience is a strong asset.
