Summary:
The incumbent will assemble a Machine or Fixture from start to finish and fit parts to tight tolerances using a variety of hand and machine tools.
Job Terms:
Permanent, full-time position.
Responsibilities:
• Read and interpret technical E-drawings, diagrams and customer specifications
• Determine and carry out work processes required to assemble machines, jigs and fixtures
• Assemble, fit and install pre-made parts to form pieces or finished products using hand and power tools
• Set up and operate a variety of tools to shape work piece to a prescribed finish
• Move and align sub assemblies & components using transportation or lifting devices such as over head cranes
• Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Knowledge of lathe, Bridgeport and grinders
• Ability to understand GD&T tolerance of components
• Experience with pneumatic systems and fluid control systems is an asset
• Prior check fixture/die/mold making or automation experience is a strong asset
• General Machinist (429A) or Industrial Mechanic/Millwright (433A) apprenticeship training is an asset
• Possess a valid passport and available to travel across the border and internationally
• Ability to travel to and conduct work at customer locations with overnight stays
