Position Overview:
The CT-114 Aviation (AVN) Technician will report to the Main Operating Base in Trenton, ON.
Responsibilities:
- Perform First and Second Level maintenance on CT-114 aircraft Mechanical and electrical systems and components, including servicing, inspection, removal, cleaning, repair, installation, adjustment, testing, and certification (release) of aircraft instruments, avionics, electrical systems, components, and ground support equipment.
- Ramp duties including pre/post flight inspection, elementary tasks, marshalling, parking, towing, fueling/defueling, and installation/removal of required mission equipment and crash and salvage response.
- Travel and work in support of mobile repair parties (MRP).
- Attend training for trade and personnel development and for qualification/certification purposes.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Adhere to policies, procedures, and directives established by the Company, Program Manager, and Supervisors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate a commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, focusing on individual safety and the safety of others, complying with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation.
What You Will Bring:
- Eligibility: graduate of recognized aircraft maintenance or apprenticeship program, current Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) “E” licence, qualified as an Aviation Technician with the Royal Canadian Air Force, or graduate of an equivalent foreign military/civilian basic trade-training program.
- Ability to achieve Maintenance Release Authorizations (MRA) in a reasonable amount of time.
- Knowledge of aircraft Mechanical systems, including power plants, flight controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, environmental systems, basic structures, safety systems, ejection systems, power generation, and distribution systems. Ability to read and interpret technical documentation such as maintenance manuals, work packages, drawings, blueprints, and Standard Plant Procedures. Proficient in standard computer programs and any specialized software necessary for the duties. Ability to drive vehicles and tow tractors.
- Participation in Continuous Improvement, Lean, and 5S activities in your area.
- Eligibility to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC- Contract Security Program.
