Job summary

EBT Chartered Professional Accountants in Alberta is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper with public practice experience to manage a portfolio of owner-managed clients across diverse industries. You will deliver accurate, timely bookkeeping with proactive communication and a focus on exceptional client service.

Responsibilities include full-cycle bookkeeping, reconciliations, GST, payroll, year-end filings, and collaboration with accountants to improve efficiency through technology and process

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping experience in a public practice accounting firm.
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping, payroll, GST, and accounting principles.
  • Experience managing multiple clients and competing deadlines.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients.
  • Bank, credit card, and account reconciliations.
  • Accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
  • GST preparation and filing.
  • Payroll processing, source deductions, ROEs, and payroll reporting.
  • Preparation of T4s and other year-end filings.
  • WCB reporting and administration.
  • Financial record maintenance and reporting.
  • Supporting clients with bookkeeping software and day-to-day inquiries.
  • Collaborating with accountants and advisors to ensure seamless client service.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through process improvement, automation, and technology.

About the Role
As a Bookkeeper, you will manage a portfolio of owner-managed business clients across a variety of industries.
You will work closely with clients and team members to provide accurate, timely, and proactive bookkeeping support while delivering an exceptional client experience.

Required Qualifications

Technical Experience
Experience with the following is considered an asset:
  • QuickBooks Online
  • Sage Accounting

  • Cloud-based accounting and payroll applications
  • Experience working in a technology-enabled environment
