Job summary

North Vancouver Recreation & Culture Commission (NVRC) seeks an Executive Director to lead the City and District’s recreation and culture services, overseeing a network of centres, arenas and programs.

The ED will manage day-to-day operations, drive strategic planning, financial stewardship and community partnerships while leading a large, diverse workforce in a public, municipally funded environment.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of progressively senior leadership in recreation or community services.
• Experience leading in a multi-site organization with budgeting and programming responsibility.
• Experience with capital projects, facility renewal and revenue/cost-recovery management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the organization operating multiple recreation centres, pools, arenas and arts programs.
• Develop and implement long-term strategic plans and priorities.
• Oversee budgeting, scheduling, registrations, fee policies and grants/sponsorships.
• Build partnerships with municipal owners, school districts and community groups.
