City of New Westminster invites applications for Deputy Director, Arts, Culture, and Heritage within the new Community Services department. Reporting to the Director, this senior role provides leadership to managers across arts, culture, heritage and conference services, guiding programs and partnerships citywide.

You will develop work plans, budgets, and strategic initiatives, influence policy, and ensure equitable access and reconciliation goals are embedded in all programs.

Qualifications

• University degree in Arts Administration/Management, Arts Leadership, Cultural Studies/Planning, Museum Studies or similar.
• Master’s degree is considered an asset.
• Public sector experience and governance knowledge are preferred.

Responsabilités

• Provide senior leadership and support for arts, culture, heritage, and conference services operations.
• Develop department policies, procedures, and strategic plans with divisional priorities.
• Lead delivery of arts, culture and heritage programming citywide, including Arts Strategy.
• Oversee external partnerships and operating agreements for facilities such as theatres and libraries.
• Prepare work plans, budgets, and reports; present to Council and committees.
