Job summary

Wilco Contractors Northwest Inc. is seeking skilled Excavator Operators in Edmonton to support civil earthworks, infrastructure and park projects. You will operate excavators safely, inspect and document, read plans and stakes, and work with Foremen and crews to deliver quality results.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years experience operating Excavator.
• Read grades, stakes, plans and site instructions.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Physically able to meet job demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Must hold a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
• CSTS and Ground Disturbance certification are required.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate Excavator for loading trucks and trenching.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and complete pre-trip/post-trip docs.
• Conduct routine maintenance and identify mechanical concerns.
• Read grades, stakes, plans and site instructions.
• Collaborate with Foremen, Gradepersons, Labourers, and Project Teams.
• Maintain production while ensuring quality workmanship.
• Follow company safety policies and safe work practices.
• Contribute to a positive, professional team environment.

What You'll Do

• Safely and efficiently operate Excavator as it applies to loading trucks, cut to fill, trenching, ditching, sloping, etc
• Perform daily equipment inspections and complete pre-trip and post-trip documentation
• Conduct routine maintenance and identify mechanical concerns
• Read grades, stakes, plans, and site instructions
• Work closely with Foremen, Gradepersons, Labourers, and Project Teams
• Maintain production while ensuring quality workmanship
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices
• Contribute to a positive, professional team environment

Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years experience operating Excavator
• Experience operating multiple types of machinery is considered an asset
• Ability to interpret survey stakes accurately
• Physically able to meet job demands, including lifting up to 50 lbs
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Capable of adapting to varying job site conditions and challenges
• Must hold a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation
• CSTS and Ground Disturbance certification are a condition of employment

Pre-Employment Requirements

Successful candidates may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test as a condition of employment.
