Job summary

Blackline Civil Inc. seeks an experienced Excavator Operator for our civil construction projects in Alberta. You will perform trenching, backfilling, and utility installation while maintaining strict safety standards around live utilities.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of excavator experience in underground or civil work, with the ability to read grade stakes and plans. A ground disturbance certification and a valid driver’s license are required.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled and safety-driven Excavator Operator with experience in underground construction. In this role, you’ll be responsible for precise excavation around live utilities and installation of underground infrastructure such as water, sewer, and storm systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate excavators for trenching, backfilling, grading, and utility installation
• Safely expose existing underground utilities
• Work around live gas, electrical, water, and telecom lines
• Follow grade stakes, trench depths, and site plans with precision
• Coordinate closely with pipe layers, labourers, and supervisors
