Job summary

Ontario Tech University is seeking attentive individuals for the casual, part-time position of Scribe Invigilator in the Office of the Deputy Provost.

Reporting to the Manager, Test Centre and Integrated Services, Scribe Invigilators provide critical one-on-one support to students registered with Student Accessibility Services, ensuring equitable access to exams by transcribing responses and/or reading exam content aloud as per approved accommodations.

Qualifications

• Completion of post-secondary school program (college diploma or university degree).
• Experience with accessibility accommodations is an asset.
• Familiarity with exam environments and privacy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Write or type responses exactly as dictated by the student, with no rewording.
• Read exam questions aloud when required, following printed text strictly.
• Assist students with digital exam platforms and assistive technology as needed.
• Request clarifications on capitalization, punctuation, and spelling, and allow review/edit of responses.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy protocols.
