Job summary

Vail Resorts in Whistler is seeking an Event Coordinator to lead on-mountain races and events. You will handle both office administration and on-site operations, ensuring smooth execution from concept to wrap-up.

The role requires strong guest service, communication, and coordination skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional event experiences in a mountain resort setting.

Qualifications

  • Outgoing and guest-focused demeanor.
  • Strong typing, computer skills and MS Excel required.
  • Ability to work in alpine mountain conditions and long hours.
  • Experience in event coordination or sports is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Whistler Blackcomb ambassador, delivering outstanding guest service.
  • Set up and maintain online registration and ticketing for events.
  • Prepare race info packages, start lists, results and awards.
  • Update event records, calendar, and social-media scheduling.

As an Event Coordinator, you’ll support and lead the planning, organization, and execution of on-mountain races and sporting events. This role focuses on both office-based administrative responsibilities and on-site event operations, helping ensure that each event runs smoothly from concept to wrap up.

  • Starting Wage: $20.00/hr - $23.00/hr
  • Employment Type: Winter Seasonal 2026/2027

Job Responsibilities
  • Serve as aWhistler Blackcomb ambassador, staying informed on event details and delivering outstanding guest service.
  • Setup and maintain online registration and ticketing platformsfor events.
  • Prepare and organizeevent supplies, such as race info packages, start lists, results, awards, and prizing.
  • Updateevent records, maintain theevent calendar, and contribute tosocial mediascheduling.
  • Respond to guest and participant inquiries viaphone, email, and in-personin a professional and timely manner.
  • Act inevent official roles, includingrace secretary, starter, timer, scorekeeper, and more.
  • Producetimely and accurate resultsand assist withawards presentations.
  • Gather and manageguest/participant feedbackduring and after events.
  • Be presenton-hill during eventsto lead or support the event host team and manage therun-of-show.
  • Complete thoroughevent wrap-up reports, including post-mortems, sponsor and media reports, surveys, and follow-up communications.
  • Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
  • Outgoing and guest-focused, with excellent communication skills.
  • Strongtyping, computer, and Microsoft Excelskills required.
  • Intermediate-level skiing or snowboarding ability (advanced is an asset).
  • Able to work long hours inalpine mountain conditions(cold, wind, snow, sun).
  • Highlyorganized, detail-oriented, and able toprioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strongnumerical aptitudeand data handling skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, showing leadership when needed.
  • Flexible and adaptable to variable work hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Previousevent coordination or sports industry experienceis a strong asset.
  • Must provide a clear criminal record check.
  • Submission of aresume is required.

The expected pay range is$20.00/hr - $23.00/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
