Job summary

The Vancouver Convention Centre, through PavCo, is hiring an Event Technician on a casual basis to support the Event Services team. You will assist with electrical and plumbing installations, equipment restocking, and reviewing work orders and floor plans for events.

Hours are event-based with a minimum of 8 hours, often requiring early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Compensation is $27.01 per hour plus 8% vacation pay, and the role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and hands-on experience

Qualifications

• High school certification or equivalent.
• Minimum 1-year experience in the event industry or skilled trades.
• LPEC preferred or able to obtain within 8 months of start date.
• Strong computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Customer service experience is an asset.
• Forklift and scissor lift certifications are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with electrical and plumbing installations for events.
• Collect, sort, and restock equipment.
• Maintain shop and work area cleanliness and organization.
• Review work orders and floor plans for accuracy.
• Support setup, maintenance, and breakdown of event services.
