Job description

Pay Rate: $18.00/hr (Event Security Guard)

Pay Rate: $19.00/hr (Event Security Supervisor)

We are looking for Event Security Guards / Supervisors who can provide a highly visible, advanced level security service involving an array of duties and posts within a critical infrastructure. Servicing the site in a professional, competent, and courteous manner. We are looking for an individual who will work with integrity, respect, and take responsibility for security to ensure the safety of everyone on site.

Job Duties
  • Surveillance: Monitoring and observing premises to prevent theft, vandalism, or other illegal activities, which may involve patrolling the area on foot or using surveillance cameras.
  • Access Control: Controlling access to a property or facility by checking credentials, verifying identification, and ensuring only authorized individuals enter the premises.
  • Emergency Response: Prepared to respond to emergencies such as fires, medical incidents, or security breaches, which may involve contacting emergency services and guiding people to safety.
  • Customer Service: Providing assistance and information to visitors, employees, or customers, including giving directions, answering questions, and offering general assistance.
  • Conflict Resolution: Resolving disputes or conflicts in a calm and professional manner, enforcing rules and regulations, and intervening in situations where there is potential for violence or disruption.
  • Patrol and Inspections: Conducting regular patrols to identify and address security risks, inspecting doors, windows, and other access points to ensure they are secure.
  • Report Writing: Documenting incidents, activities, and notable observations in written reports for legal or investigative purposes.
  • Alarm Monitoring: Responding to alarms and alerts, investigating the cause, and taking appropriate action, which may involve coordination with law enforcement or other emergency services.
  • First Aid: Administering basic first aid in the event of injuries or medical emergencies until professional medical help arrives.
  • Preventive Measures: Implementing measures to prevent security breaches, such as checking and securing windows and doors, and ensuring that security systems are functioning properly.
  • Crowd Control: Managing large crowds and ensuring order and safety during events or crowded situations.
  • Security Equipment Operation: Operating and monitoring security equipment such as surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarms.
  • Collaboration with Law Enforcement: Cooperating with local law enforcement agencies when necessary and providing them with information and assistance.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum High School diploma or Grade 12 education.
  • Minimum of 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Must possess a valid Security license.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication and active listening skills.
  • Able to work nights, weekends, weekdays, and holidays.
  • Able to work outdoors in any weather conditions with excessive walking and long periods of standing.
