What will you be doing?
Job Overview
Assists in supervising the food and beverage outlets to ensure that quality and service standards are met and maximize food and beverage profits.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Supporting management with staff training
- Update schedule to ensure proper coverage during service periods
- Monitor performance and recommend corrective action
- Alert management of potentially serious issues.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and complaints
- Make appropriate service recovery gestures according to established guidelines to ensure total guest satisfaction
- Supervises activity in outlets including restaurant, bar, and room service to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction.
- Inspect the restaurant daily to ensure high-quality food and food presentation and cleanliness
- Conduct pre-shift briefings to inform staff of daily events
- Ensure side work duties are complete, and tables are set before, during and after operating hours
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments
- Assist with greeting guests and the service food and beverage
- Follows company policies and procedures
- In carrying out your duties you will follow all Company and Brand Standards.
- Complete opening and closing duties including setting up necessary supplies and tools, cleaning all equipment and areas, locking doors, etc.
- Inspect storage areas for organization, use of FIFO, and cleanliness.
- Complete scheduled inventories and stock and requisition necessary supplies.
- Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service, safety, and well-being of guests. Complete work orders for maintenance repairs.
- Update reservation system, by confirming all bookings and special requests.
- Assign tables and sections, ensuring an efficient flow throughout the service
- Assist with other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Ensure staff are working together as a team to ensure optimum service and that guest needs are met.
Qualifications And Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and one year of food service experience in a full-service restaurant or similar setting. Some college or supervisory experience is preferred.
- This job requires the ability to perform the following:
- Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Remain stationary for extended periods.
- Moving about the outlet(s)
- Handling food objects and products
- Bending, stooping, kneeling
- Other:
- Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with customers and employees.
- Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when completing paperwork, scheduling, and giving and receiving instructions.
- Mathematical skills, including basic math, and cash handling, are utilized frequently.
- Problem-solving, reasoning, motivation, organizational and training abilities are used often.
- Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by a local or provincial government agency.
- May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
