Furever Pawradise, a Toronto-based non-profit celebrating the furry arts community, seeks an Event Ops Supervisor to lead a defined operations area during events. You will actively supervise teams, ensure safety, and resolve on-site challenges as they arise.
Key responsibilities include pre-shift inspections, acting as radio point of contact, coordinating with Guest Experience and other departments, and ensuring staff are trained on equipment and procedures.
The Event Ops Supervisor is a hands-on leader responsible for a specific functional area of the event. They might oversee all main stage operations, manage the technical setups for all panel rooms, or command a specific physical zone of the venue. They are the primary on-site problem-solvers, ensuring their area of responsibility runs smoothly and safely from moment to moment.
Key Responsibilities
Directly manage and support Team Leaders and Members within a specific operational area (e.g., Main Events, Panel Tech).
Conduct pre-shift inspections of their area to identify and mitigate any safety or operational hazards.
Serve as the first point of radio contact and escalation for all operational issues in their zone.
Ensure all team members are properly trained on their equipment and tasks.
Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Guest Experience for line management) to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Supervisory Experience : Proven ability to lead teams in a live event environment.
Technical Aptitude : Comfortable with or able to quickly learn event technology (A/V, lighting, etc.).
Quick Thinking : Ability to rapidly assess a situation and make a sound operational decision.
Strong Communication : Clear, concise communication skills, especially over a radio.
Beneficial Skills
Experience as an A/V technician or stage manager.
First aid and CPR certification.
