The Westin Nova Scotian in Halifax invites applications for a Banquet Server. Join our events team to deliver polished, guest‑focused service for corporate meetings, weddings, and celebrations.

Your role supports smooth event operations, from greeting guests to clearing tables and restocking stations. You will read BEOs, maintain presentation, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure a memorable guest experience while upholding safety and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Banquet or food service experience preferred.
• Serve Right certification required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and guest service skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Read and execute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).
• Set and clear tables; prepare rooms for banquets and events.
• Serve food, beverages, wine, coffee, and tea according to standards.
• Maintain buffets, beverage stations, and cleanliness of service areas.
• Provide friendly, professional guest service and respond to requests.
• Assist with setup, breakdown, and cleaning of event spaces.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and alcohol service policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
