Job summary

VC3 is seeking an IT Security Analyst I for the Evening Shift, fully remote in Canada. The role focuses on security event monitoring, incident response, and collaborating with clients to translate cyber security concepts into business terms.

You will work 4pm–1am EST, using End Detection and Response tools to investigate alerts, and contribute to threat hunting and reporting. The position emphasizes growth and cross-border experiences across US and Canada.

Qualifications

• Two years of work experience in information security or related fields.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CCNA, C|EH, SSCP are preferred.
• Experience with SIEM platforms, firewall management and EDR platforms.
• At least one year of experience with EDR, ESGs, vulnerability management and content filtering.

Responsibilities

• Translate cyber security concepts into non-technical terms for clients.
• Manage security event monitoring and incident response queues to meet SLAs.
• Convey indicators of compromise, isolation, and remediation steps.
• Analyze logs to diagnose faults and spot abnormal behavior.
• Use End Detection and Response tools to investigate alerts and build timelines.
• Follow procedures to investigate, contain, or eradicate malicious activity.
• Deliver written and oral reports to clients and management.
• Suggest improvements to internal processes and participate in threat hunting.

Education

Two years' work experience in Information Security

Certifications preferred: CompTIA Security+ / CySA+ / CCNA / C|EH / SSCP
