Job summary

The Toronto Catholic District School Board (TCDSB) is seeking a Fire Alarm Technician (Temporary) to support East/West Facilities? Support Services Operations & Maintenance. The role focuses on inspection, testing and minor repairs of fire alarm and PA systems in schools and admin buildings.

Evening shift (3:30 pm–11:30 pm) with flexible base locations and potential early end date per the Board's needs. Candidates should have 3–5 years of experience in fire alarm systems and a valid CFAA

Qualifications

• 3–5 years practical experience.
• Experience with conventional and addressable fire alarm systems.
• Experience with monitoring systems and emergency lighting.
• Sprinkler and Fire Protection Installer certification is an asset.
• Experience with security and PA systems is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Maintenance Supervisor in the assigned region.
• Inspect and test fire/security alarms in all schools and admin buildings and minor repairs for the PA system.
• Ensure compliance with NBCC, NFCC, CAN/ULC standards and AHJ requirements.
• Maintain records and ensure safe operation of tools and vehicles.
