Job summary

Trans Canada Safety in Ontario is seeking a skilled fire protection technician to inspect, repair and program fire alarm systems, extinguishers and emergency lighting. You will follow CAN/ULC, NFPA and Ontario Fire Code standards to ensure life safety and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• CFAA registered or certified.
• 1–5 years’ experience preferred.
• Prior experience with fire alarm systems, fire extinguishers and emergency lighting is an asset.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, customer oriented and able to work independently as well as with others.

Responsibilities

• Take direction from supervisors, coordinators and/or support staff.
• Inspect and repair fire alarm systems, fire extinguishers and emergency lighting units.
• Perform programming and verifications of new and modified fire alarm systems.
• Ensure the highest standard of system reliability and client satisfaction.
• Complete work orders and all reports in a timely manner.
• Rotate for on‑call emergency service.
• Follow CAN/ULC, NFPA and Ontario Fire Code standards and regulations.
