Job summary

Pomerleau, a leader in Civil & Infrastructure, seeks an Estimator to support large-scale projects within the Structures and Civil Works unit. You will work on bids, pricing, and coordination with client groups to drive competitive proposals and successful project outcomes.

Role involves collaborating with proposals teams, evaluating labor/equipment costs, and interpreting specifications to ensure accurate estimates for projects ranging from mid-million to over a billion dollars.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of relevant estimating experience in the construction industry.

As an Estimator within Pomerleau’s Civil & Infrastructure division, you will play a key role at the heart of the Structures and Civil Works business unit. You will support the growth of new and ongoing projects by challenging industry standards through your expertise and deep understanding of structural work.

You will work on large-scale projects ranging from $1.5M to over one billion dollars, in diverse areas such as bridge construction and rehabilitation, major civil works, specialized structures, pedestrian bridges, port infrastructure, as well as various projects carried out in synergy with other business units within the organization.

By working closely with our proposals team and various client groups, you will actively contribute to the preparation of competitive bids and the overall success of the projects, while helping to build and restore sustainable, safe, and essential infrastructure for our communities.

What you will do

• 3 to 5 years of relevant estimating experience in the construction industry, with knowledge in Structures and Civil Engineering Works.
• A university degree, college diploma, or certificate in engineering or construction management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A proven track record in project coordination and team collaboration.
• Experience in building relationships with industry and project stakeholders.
• A comprehensive understanding of the bid process cycle.
• Strong research skills for identifying and analyzing project-specific expenses.
• Expertise in quantity take-offs to ensure accuracy in contract specifications and pricing.
• Solid computer skills, especially with estimation software.
