Job summary

Pomerleau, a national leader in construction, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in its Civil & Infrastructure division. You will play a key role on Restorations – Civil Structures projects, guiding multidisciplinary teams and coordinating with engineers, contractors and clients to ensure flawless execution.

You will plan budgets, manage schedules, lead the bidding and contracts process, and develop strong stakeholder relationships while advancing profitability.

Qualifications

• Educational background in civil or construction engineering or a related program.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of construction project methodologies, financial management, building codes and related legislation.
• Proven track record in project leadership and teamwork.
• Passion for civil projects and stakeholder relations.

Responsibilities

As an Assistant Project Manager within Pomerleau’s Civil & Infrastructure division, you will play a key role at the heart of the Restorations – Civil Structures business unit. By leading large‑scale construction and infrastructure projects—ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion—you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure flawless project execution. You will benefit from professional guidance and specialized services provided by our support departments, such as environment, quality, and assurance, allowing you to focus on what matters most: project management.

What You Will Do

• Be at the forefront of all project procurement and execution.


• Plan, schedule, estimate and forecast project budgets.


• Lead, mentor and monitor your internal project team and their success.


• Build and develop positive relationships with internal stakeholders, external clients, contractors and subtrades.


• Take charge of the bidding and contracts process, utilizing your expertise in cost control and payment management to maximize profitability.


• Guide our stellar project team by ensuring seamless coordination of plans and specifications, while managing project finances.


• Adapt to changing client needs with innovative solutions that showcase your creativity and resourcefulness.

This role could be for you if you have

• An educational background in civil or construction engineering or another relevant program.


• At least 5 years of experience working in a similar role.
