Job summary

Pomerleau is seeking an Estimator within its Civil & Infrastructure division to support growth across major projects from $1.5M to over a billion dollars, including sewer and waterworks, wind farms, dams, and roadwork. You will work with proposals teams to secure competitive bids and ensure project success, applying your expertise to interpret specs and price labor, equipment, and materials.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of estimating experience in construction.
• A university degree, college diploma, or certificate in engineering or construction management, or equivalent.
• Proven track record in project coordination and team collaboration.
• Experience building relationships with industry stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of the bid process cycle and cost estimation.

As an Estimator within Pomerleau's Civil & Infrastructure division, you will play a key role at the heart of the Earthworks business unit. You will support the growth of new and ongoing projects by challenging industry standards through your expertise and knowledge of the trade. You will be involved in large-scale projects ranging from $1.5M to over one billion dollars, across various areas of expertise, including sewer and waterworks, wind farms, dams, and roadwork, as well as other projects carried out in synergy with the organization’s different business units. By working closely with our proposals team and diverse client groups, you will actively contribute to securing competitive bids and ensuring the overall success of our projects. What you will do

• Accurately interpret technical specifications with a keen eye for detail.
• Perform thorough quantity take-offs to ensure precise contract specifications and pricing.

• 3 to 5 years of relevant estimating experience in the construction industry.
• A university degree, college diploma, or certificate in engineering or construction management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A proven track record in project coordination and team collaboration.
• Experience in building relationships with industry and project stakeholders.
• A comprehensive understanding of the bid process cycle.
• Strong research skills for identifying and analyzing project-specific expenses.
• Expertise in quantity take-offs to ensure accuracy in contract specifications and pricing.
• Solid computer skills, especially with estimation software.
