Specified is an established roofing contractor expanding its Service department. We seek a Service Estimator to assess roof conditions, price repairs and small projects, and work with clients, consultants and crews across the GTA.

The role requires practical roofing knowledge, ability to read drawings, and delivering accurate, competitive quotations quickly and consistently. You will support planning and site visits and contribute to a growing service team.

Qualifikationen

• Previous roofing experience and knowledge of commercial roofing systems, materials and repair methods.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, roof plans and specifications.
• Strong communication skills with clients, consultants and crews.

Specified is an established, well-respected building envelope contractor delivering commercial and institutional roofing, cladding and waterproofing projects across Ontario. As part of our continued growth, we are expanding our Service department, and we are hiring a Service Estimator to strengthen its estimating and site-assessment function.

This is a hands-on, varied role inside a stable, growing company: you will assess roof conditions, price repairs, maintenance and small projects, and work directly with clients, consultants and crews across the GTA.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Service Estimator will lead estimating for roof repairs, preventative maintenance and small projects. The role requires practical roofing knowledge, the ability to read construction drawings, and the ability to prepare accurate, competitive quotations quickly and consistently. You will be equally comfortable investigating a leak on a roof, preparing scopes and estimates, following up with clients and supporting the planning of approved work.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend site visits to investigate leaks, assess roof conditions, take measurements and photograph existing conditions
• Prepare scopes of work, repair recommendations, estimates and client quotations
• Read and interpret drawings, specifications, roof plans and consultant reports
• Estimate labour, materials, equipment, access requirements and disposal costs
• Identify additional repair and preventative maintenance opportunities
• Follow up on quotations and assist with planning approved work
• Document unforeseen conditions and obtain approval for additional work before proceeding
• Provide crews with clear work orders, roof plans, repair details and site instructions
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors and building representatives as required
• Assist with job costing, completion documentation, invoicing support and warranty closeout
• Maintain a high standard of professionalism, accuracy and confidentiality

Required Qualifications

• Previous roofing experience and a working knowledge of commercial roofing systems, materials and repair methods
• Ability to assess roof conditions and recognize common installation deficiencies
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, roof plans and specifications
• Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence and an acceptable driving record
• Strong organizational, problem-solving and time-management skills
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and digital reporting or work-order systems
• Ability to access roofs, use ladders safely and perform site inspections using appropriate safety equipment
• Willingness to travel between job sites throughout the GTA

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a roofing service technician, foreman or estimator
• Familiarity with modified bitumen, BUR and single-ply roofing systems
• Experience with leak investigations, preventative maintenance and small roofing projects
• Experience preparing estimates, tracking job costs and coordinating subcontractors
• Current Working at Heights training

Working Conditions

This role involves a combination of office work and site visits throughout the GTA. Early starts and occasional after-hours coordination may be required to support emergency service calls and client requirements.
