Job summary

Pomerleau is seeking an Estimator to join the Building Operations team in Montreal. You will prepare cost estimates for labour, equipment and materials, and participate in tendering and bid processes for projects ranging from multimillion-dollar scopes.

You will interpret drawings, perform quantity take-offs, and ensure pricing and client expectations are met while building strong relationships with subcontractors, consultants, and clients.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 3 years of estimating experience.
• Experience working with project stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of the tendering and bidding process.
• Excellent research and analytical skills.
• Expertise in quantity take-offs.
• Strong computer skills.
• Proficiency with estimating and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the full tendering and bid preparation process.
• Develop project-specific cost estimates for labour, equipment and materials.
• Accurately interpret technical drawings and specifications with strong attention to detail.
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs to ensure accuracy of contract specifications and cost estimates.
• Ensure pricing requirements and client expectations are met.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, consultants and clients.
• Research innovative solutions and identify optimization opportunities.
• Contribute to project success through effective estimating and cost management strategies.
