Job summary

PCL Industrial Management Inc. in Edmonton, Alberta, is seeking an Estimator to prepare bids and proposals for multiple contract types. You will assist the lead estimator on large projects, build strong industry relationships, and contribute to conceptual estimating when applicable.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or diploma and 4 years of estimating experience, with on-site exposure preferred. The company offers growth opportunities, robust training, and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in related discipline or trade experience or equivalent.
• 4 years of progressive experience in construction cost estimating, and 6 months of on-site experience is preferred.
• Led pursuits valued at up to $25 million in various delivery methods.
• General construction knowledge; understands specs, drawings, materials, methods and procedures.
• Knowledge of bid preparation: quantity takeoffs, subtrade procurement, pricing, bid-closing procedures, and related processes.

Responsibilities

• Leads small to medium estimates or components of large estimates and reviews all bid documents.
• Conducts detailed analysis of contract documents and specifications to determine project requirements.
• Ensures full quantity takeoffs of labor, equipment, and materials from project documents.
• Supports the estimate lead by populating tender forms and suggesting information needs.
• Establishes a pursuit schedule and maintains relationships with stakeholders.
