Job summary

BW Gold, a wholly owned subsidiary of Artemis Gold Inc., seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Blackwater Mine site in British Columbia. This permanent role involves operating dozers, graders, excavators, and loaders, with a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation.

You will perform pre-op checks, follow safety policies, and support production targets on site. We value experience in mining, MineStar GPS familiarity, a valid driver’s license, and a ready willingness to work flexible hours, including

Qualifications

• Proficiency operating a diverse range of heavy equipment (excavators, dozers, loaders, graders).
• Experience in mining environments and with GPS fleet management systems.
• Valid driver’s license and good safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy mining equipment (dozers, graders, excavators).
• Perform pre-operational inspections and routine maintenance checks.
• Follow practices to optimize equipment performance and maintain haul roads, dumps, and loading areas.
• Adhere to site safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in safety meetings, hazard identification, and incident prevention.
• Coordinate with dispatch, supervisors, and maintenance teams to support production targets.
• Report equipment issues and suggest operational improvements.
• Mentor less experienced operators and assist in training.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment and follow PPE rules.
• Be prepared to work flexible hours and overtime as required.

Location: Blackwater Mine site - located 160 km southwest of Prince George, BC.

Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On – Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy mining equipment, including dozers, graders, and excavators.
• Perform pre-operational inspections and routine maintenance checks.
• Follow best operating practices to optimize equipment performance and maintain haul roads, dumps, and loading areas.
• Adhere to site safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in safety meetings, hazard identification, and incident prevention.
• Communicate with dispatch, supervisors, and maintenance teams to support production targets.
• Report equipment issues and recommend operational improvements.
• Assist with training and mentoring less experienced operators.
• Follow environmental best practices and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• May be required to maintain a clean-shaven appearance (i.e. no facial hair) to ensure the safe and effective use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) associated with assigned duties.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in operating and maneuvering a diverse range of heavy equipment, with competency on at least 3 pieces of equipment, including but not limited to, excavators, dozers, loaders and graders.
• Certifications in heavy equipment operation are a plus.
• Experience operating equipment in a mining environment.
• Experience working with MineStar GPS fleet management systems or similar.
• Valid drivers license.
• Knowledge of and adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Physical fitness and stamina for prolonged periods of outdoor work and heavy equipment operation.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as required by project demands.
• OFA 3 and/or Mine Rescue Certification would be an asset.
• Ability to read survey stakes is an asset.
• Be prepared to actively participate in positive and safe working atmosphere.
• Ability to stay alert and pay attention to detail during all hours and weather conditions.
• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to safely climb and access equipment, as well as lift heavy objects up to 50lbs.
