Clean Harbors is seeking a Local Driver/Operator to join our safety‑conscious team in Fort McMurray, AB. The role requires experience in oilfield, industrial, or construction environments and the ability to operate a vacuum truck.

The position offers a field rate of $39.37 per hour with a 7/7 rotation of 10‑hour days, alternating day and night shifts, plus benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Class 1 or 3 driver license required (18‑speed manual).
• Must be local to Fort McMurray.
• Valid First Aid, H2S Alive, and CSO/CSTS certificates required (training available).
• Experience with hot loading and hot fluids is an asset.
• Oilfield, industrial, or construction experience is an asset.
• Vacuum truck and/or high‑pressure unit operating experience is an asset.
• Previous experience in a labor‑intensive role.
• Capable of outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly.
• Willingness to work 10–12 hour shifts and night shifts.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team‑focused, safety‑oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety by complying with safe work practices and policies.
• Safely drive equipment to and from work sites and operate units on site.
• Transport waste to Clean Harbors or approved disposal facilities.
• Build client relations by delivering high levels of service.
• Complete required paperwork daily, including pre/post trip inspections and risk assessments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safely drive equipment to and from work sites and operate units while on site.
• Transport hazardous and non‑hazardous waste to Clean Harbors or approved third‑party disposal facilities.
• Build client relations by providing high levels of customer service.
• Complete all required paperwork daily, including pre/post trip inspection reports and field risk assessments.

• Previous experience in a labor‑intensive role.
• Capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
