Environmental Technologist

Position Overview

We are seeking an Environmental Technologist to join our London office. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, hardworking, and passionate about hazardous materials and environmental assessment. This role involves working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct building investigations for Asbestos, Designated Substances, Mould, and other hazardous materials.
  • Collect air and bulk samples during abatement projects.
  • Prepare engineering/technical reports related to abatement and investigations.
  • Perform on-site air quality investigations, sampling, monitoring, and workplace exposure assessments.
  • Analyze phase contrast microscopy (PCM) air samples for airborne fibers using NIOSH 7400 method.
  • Interpret laboratory analytical results.
  • Draft technical reports on surveys, investigations, and monitoring.
  • Complete Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I and II).
  • Oversee environmental site remediation activities.
  • Conduct groundwater and surface water sampling.
  • Communicate with clients and troubleshoot issues independently.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • College Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental/Geological/Civil Technician, or related field.
  • Experience in environmental consulting, hazardous materials surveys, and environmental site assessments is preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations (e.g., Ontario Regulations 278/05, 490/09, 833, and Environmental Protection Act) is an asset.
  • Strong communication and technical report writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Motivated, organized, and team-oriented.
  • Availability to work weekends and nights as required.
