Kresin Engineering Corporation (KEC) is an established engineering firm located in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario providing multi-disciplined engineering services throughout Northern Ontario. KEC requires a qualified and enthusiastic candidate to join our team in the position of engineering technician. This is a permanent full-time position.

You will be a critical contributor during the delivery of environmental projects including: hydrogeological assessments, Municipal Class Environmental Assessments, environmental audits, municipal landfill and sewage treatment plant compliance monitoring and reporting; designated substances evaluations; etc. You will work as part of a team including environmental scientists, engineers and technicians.

Qualifications:

• A post-secondary degree or diploma in Environmental Science or Environmental Technician.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365.
• Strong problem solving and multitasking skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel within northern Ontario, some overnight trips.
• Ability to work independently and as a team when required.
• Must have a valid Ontario driver’s license (G Class) in good standing.

Qualifications Considered Assets:

• Experience with groundwater and soil sampling investigation techniques.
• Knowledge of air and water quality/quantity sampling and monitoring equipment.
• Ability to utilize and calibrate scientific instruments for sample analysis.
• Experience with scientific information analysis and interpretation, data management, and technical report writing.

Responsibilities:

• Manage laboratory chains of custody.
• Conduct on-site inspections.
• Install, operate and monitor well purging, sampling, and ground water level equipment.
• Provide report writing support to senior staff.
• Design and implement environmental sampling and analysis programs.
• Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
