Job summary

Englobe seeks an environmental field professional to perform fieldwork across diverse sites, including groundwater and soil sampling, drilling and test pits, and data reporting. You’ll work within a dynamic team on projects spanning water, soils, and climate-related initiatives.

You’ll ensure health and safety adherence, regulatory compliance, and timely documentation while traveling locally to provincial or national sites. A strong safety mindset and field experience are essential.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Environmental Sciences, Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • 0–3 years’ experience in environmental drilling/test pitting and sampling.
  • Experience with Phase I/ESA and II/ESA; soil management asset.
  • Knowledge of lab and field-testing procedures.
  • Eligible for Federal security clearance; Reliability/Secret is a strong asset.
  • Health and safety knowledge for field environments.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to work outdoors year-round; 3–5 days/week; travel.
  • Willingness to travel provincially or nationally to project sites.

Responsibilities

  • Apply and adhere to Englobe’s health and safety policies on project sites.
  • Perform environmental fieldwork: sampling groundwater, surface water, potable water, sediments.
  • Coordinate and carry out drilling and test pit programs.
  • Document field activities and prepare technical reports.
  • Prepare laboratory chains of custody and coordinate sample submissions.
  • Operate field equipment including calibration and maintenance.
  • Apply regulatory requirements related to excess soils and contaminated sites.
  • Support project execution with required administrative tasks.

Your main responsibilities


  • Apply, promote, and strictly adhere to Englobe’s health and safety policies on all project sites and work locations;

  • Perform environmental fieldwork, including sampling of groundwater, surface water, potable water, and sediments;

  • Coordinate and carry out environmental drilling and test pit programs, including geotechnical and integrated geo-environmental fieldwork;

  • Document field activities, compile data, and prepare technical reports using established templates;

  • Prepare laboratory chains of custody, maintain detailed field records, and coordinate sample submissions to laboratories;

  • Manage, maintain, and operate field equipment, including calibration, charging, and routine maintenance;

  • Apply regulatory requirements and guidelines related to excess soils, contaminated sites, and environmental compliance;

  • Support project execution through required administrative tasks, including timesheet completion.


What makes you unique


  • Hold post-secondary education in Environmental Sciences, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience);

  • 0 to 3 years experience as an environmental consultant in environmental drilling and test pitting, collection of soil and groundwater samples required;

  • Reporting experience in Phase I/One and II/Two ESAs, Excess Soil Management would be an asset;

  • Understanding of and/or ability to learn technical laboratory and field-testing procedures required;

  • Be eligible to obtain Federal Government security clearance; active Reliability or Secret clearance is considered a strong asset;

  • Demonstrate knowledge of and compliance with occupational health and safety requirements in field environments;

  • Hold a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable personal vehicle;

  • Be available to work outdoors in field environments year-round, typically 3–5 days per week, with flexibility for schedule changes, travel, and occasional overtime;

  • Travel locally and as required, provincially or nationally to urban and remote project sites.

The salary range for this position is $47,934$ to $62,913 CAD base per annum, based on the responsibilities of the role, internal equity, and current market benchmarks. The final offer will be determined based on a combination of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience and qualifications, their positioning within our internal compensation structure, and relevant geographic cost-of-living considerations, where applicable. This range represents a realistic and good‑faith estimate of the compensation we expect to offer for this role.


Compensation may also include a comprehensive benefits package, performance incentives, or bonus eligibility depending on role level and business unit. We aim to foster transparency, respect candidate time and ensure equitable compensation aligned with our company values.
