Job Description

As the Environmental Systems Manager, you will lead our sustainability initiatives, ensuring we meet all environmental commitments while respecting the natural surroundings. This role is ideal for a leader passionate about driving impactful change and maintaining our legacy as a responsible hotel.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the hotel’s No Net Negative Environmental Impact commitments, including annual data collection and reporting to Parks Canada.
  • Ensure hotel compliance with all relevant environmental legislation.
  • Lead the implementation of sustainability goals; advise the executive team on required actions and data.
  • Collaborate on energy, water, and carbon reduction initiatives, including data collection and reporting.
  • Work with procurement to improve sourcing and ensure compliance with ESG metrics.
  • Support F&B with food waste monitoring and reduction programs.
  • Lead sustainability projects, including certifications, awards, and audits.
  • Serve as liaison between the hotel, corporate sustainability team, and regional directors.
  • Manage waste and recycling programs, collaborating with local partners.
  • Provide messaging for marketing and external communications regarding environmental commitments.
  • Lead the sustainability committee and foster a culture of environmental responsibility.
  • Conduct or develop sustainability onboarding and training for staff.
  • Organize communication opportunities to promote sustainability efforts among guests and staff.
  • Develop pitch documents for sales and recruitment teams.
  • Build partnerships with local organizations and stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum two years of management experience, preferably in hospitality or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Hospitality Management, Sustainability, Environmental Studies, or related discipline.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple initiatives.
  • Proven leadership in achieving sustainability goals.
  • Passion for sustainability and knowledge of environmental best practices in hospitality.
