Job summary

SSR Mining – Seabee Gold Operation is seeking a Supervisor, Environment to provide senior environmental support to operations, mentor Environment Advisors, and ensure regulatory compliance through monitoring, permitting and reporting. The role will coordinate with regulators and consultants and lead environmental initiatives across the site.

The position reports to the Manager, Environment, and requires a university degree in Environmental studies or related science, with 5–7 years in mining.

Qualifications

• University degree in Environmental studies or related science.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the mining industry.
• Experience in environmental management, project management or related responsibilities.
• Proven environmental experience including monitoring, compliance, permitting and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior environmental support to assist SGO Mining in meeting all regulatory and company commitments.
• Lead and mentor Environment Advisors in completion of their duties.
• Provide technical support to operation teams on environmental challenges and standards.
• Provide senior review and/or create site environment reports.
• Lead investigations into environmental incidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Act as a key point of contact between the Environment Department and regulators/consultants.
• Promote proactive environmental awareness within the company.
• Lead site Environment Team to obtain and renew environmental approvals and permits.
