Job summary

Agnico Eagle Mines' Detour Lake Mine seeks an Environmental Supervisor to lead the site environmental team, ensure compliance with monitoring programs, and drive the Environmental Management System. You will coordinate field sampling, reporting, and audits while advising on environmental considerations in work plans.

The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, safety, and sustainable operations, with on-site accommodations and transportation support in Canada.

Qualifications

• University degree in Environmental Engineering, science or environmental discipline.
• 5–8 years progressive experience in an environmental role within a mining operation.
• 1–3 years in a supervisory role with demonstrated success mentoring a team of professionals.
• Knowledge of environmental management systems.
• Knowledge of Canadian and Ontario health, safety and environment acts, and related mining legislation.
• Strong experience in field sampling methods and technical report writing.
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with EquiS Enterprise database is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the site environmental team, coaching and developing staff.
• Oversee Environmental Monitoring Program and day-to-day departmental operations.
• Develop, maintain, and implement the Environmental Management System.
• Track consumables and field equipment supplies and inventory.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory, permits, monitoring and reporting requirements.
• Monitor environmental impact and recommend adaptive management to mitigate risks.
• Promote environmental awareness and support work plans with environmental considerations.
• Conduct site audits to ensure policy and procedure compliance.
• Ensure incident response measures, lead investigations and reporting.
