Job summary

Alberta Health Services in Coronation Hospital is seeking an Environmental Services staff member to perform cleaning and disinfecting tasks in both clinical and non-clinical areas. duties include sweeping, mopping, restocking supplies, and maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff.

The role requires physical ability to lift, stand for long periods, and operate cleaning equipment. Prior hospital cleaning experience is preferred, with a casual/relief schedule and shift patterns

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
• Knowledge and operation of computers and smartphones.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform repetitive movements.
• Physically capable to lift up to 25 lbs and push and pull up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect clinical and non-clinical healthcare environments.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and restock supplies; change linens as needed.
• Operate cleaning equipment for floor maintenance and restoration; report hazards.
• Provide training or orientation to Environmental or Laundry staff when required.

Job description

As a dynamic member of Environmental Services you will demonstrate genuine care and respect for clients, visitors and staff. In accordance with AHS policies and procedures you are a strong component to the delivery of our services in providing a clean and safe environment contributing to the delivery of a healthy and comfortable desirable stay for our clients and steadfast recovery. You will be committed to substantiate quality care in performing various cleaning duties and preventive measures to reduce the spread of infections. Some accountabilities include passing and maintaining governed room inspections, devoted positive working relationships and respect confidentiality.

Description:

As an Environmental Services staff, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks associated with cleaning and disinfecting clinical and non-clinical healthcare environments within a hospital or facility. Your typical duties may include sweeping, mopping and vacuuming; restocking supplies in bathroom facilities; stripping linen and making beds; operating industrial cleaning equipment for floor maintenance and restoration; thorough washing of ceilings and windows; emptying hazardous waste; and replenishing cleaning supplies and linens. You will also be responsible for identifying and reporting potential hazards to your Working Leader and you may also provide training or orientation to Environmental or Laundry staff.

Required Qualifications:
