Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking a dependable Environmental Services Cleaner/Housekeeper to support clinical and non-clinical areas at Cold Lake Healthcare facilities. You will perform routine cleaning, disinfection, linen management, and restocking to create a safer, cleaner environment for staff, patients, and families.

The role involves operating industrial cleaning equipment, thorough cleaning of rooms and public spaces, and potential training for staff.

Qualifications

You’ll create a more pleasant environment for staff, volunteers, patients, and families, and a safer one too through disinfection and cleaning.In this role, you will make a difference to staff, volunteers, patients and families alike. The Environmental Services – Cleaner/Housekeeper performs a range of cleaning services in clinical and non-clinical areas, including treatment rooms, staff areas, and public spaces. They will also perform non-routine and deep cleaning tasks, as well as use industrial equipment to perform their work.You will join a team of over 6,000 Environmental Service workers making a difference every day by cleaning, sanitizing, organizing, and restocking to make sure everyone’s experience at AHS is safe, clean, and healthy.

Description:

As an Environmental Services staff, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks associated with cleaning and disinfecting clinical and non-clinical healthcare environments within a hospital or facility. Your typical duties may include sweeping, mopping and vacuuming; restocking supplies in bathroom facilities; stripping linen and making beds; operating industrial cleaning equipment for floor maintenance and restoration; thorough washing of ceilings and windows; emptying hazardous waste; and replenishing cleaning supplies and linens. You will also be responsible for identifying and reporting potential hazards to your Working Leader and you may also provide training or orientation to Environmental or Laundry staff.
