Job summary

Carmeuse is seeking an Environmental Area Manager to oversee environmental programs across facilities in Canada and the United States from Beachville, Ontario. You will lead regulatory compliance, emissions reporting, and environmental audits while coordinating with operations and engineering teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Science or Engineering with 5+ years in heavy industry or mining, and willingness to travel up to 40%. Remote work options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering required.
• 5+ years environmental experience in heavy industry or mining.
• Strong knowledge of Environmental Laws and Regulations.
• Willingness to travel up to 40% (Remote work also available).

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe work environment while executing duties.
• Provide technical support on permitting and regulatory obligations to operations and other departments.
• Plan and conduct operations to meet business objectives while managing permits, water usage, sampling, and reporting.
• Interact with government environmental personnel and engage outside consultants as required.
• Report to government agencies on emissions, water usage, compliance, and other environmental metrics.
