Who are we looking for?

Due to continuing growth in our Rail/Transit practice, we are seeking an Environmental Manager for Alternative Delivery Projects across Canada. This position will be integral in the development and growth of GHD's Environmental and Transportation business groups.

The role can be based out of any of our offices in the Greater Toronto Area - Mississauga, Toronto, Whitby, Markham or Waterloo.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead all aspects of environmental delivery for major transportation programs (P3/DB).
  2. Develop and mentor an environmental team for focused project delivery in the transportation market.
  3. Support other markets related to environmental management for alternative delivery.
  4. Develop strategies for environmental services to support alternative delivery.
  5. Manage all environmental disciplines for project delivery for complex DB/P3 projects.
  6. Work with environmental disciplines to develop and validate cost estimates for project delivery.
  7. Manage and contribute to environmental deliverables for RFQ, RFP, and DE phases of major projects.
  8. Interface with Project Managers and production team on resource management, schedule, and budget.
  9. Monitor project schedules, coordinate, and maintain contact with project stakeholders.
  10. Attend project meetings and undertake site visits during construction as required.
  11. Prepare, track, and administer project budgets.
  12. Liaise with clients and participate in business development and promotional activities for the company.
Qualifications
  1. Environmental Engineering or Science Degree.
  2. Professional designation – P.Eng., PGO, RPP, or EP.
  3. Minimum of 10 years’ experience.
  4. Knowledge and experience of environmental best practices and their application to large-scale construction programs.
  5. Experience in developing and mentoring teams.
  6. Experience working on all aspects of alternative delivery projects.
  7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Experience in the transportation market.
  9. Experience managing environmental disciplines in an alternative project delivery (P3, DB) model, and managing teaming arrangements with contractors and consultants.
  10. Good knowledge and practical experience of Environmental Management Systems compliant with ISO 14001:2015.
  11. Knowledge of local environmental regulations and legal requirements.

  • Business Group Leader for Impact Assessment.
