Job description

Tomlinson Industrial Waste Division is seeking a passionate, strategic, and environmentally focused leader to fill the role of Environmental Manager for our Ottawa operations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Ensure all sites operate within their respective certificates of approval.
• Verify waste stream characterization to ensure compliance with Reg. 347.
• Maintain familiarity with Reg. 347 and 153.
• Supervise lab staff and ensure proper maintenance and calibration of lab equipment.
• Provide technical expertise to the sales team.
• Oversee quality control for all inbound and outbound waste.
• Amend manifests as required.
• Supervise waste processing activities (bulking, blending, neutralization, etc.).
• Classify waste streams appropriately.
• Source and negotiate optimal disposal options for waste streams.
• Develop and implement effective compliance training programs, including onboarding and ongoing training for employees and managers.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Education and Experience

• Knowledge of current provincial and federal environmental regulations.
• Minimum of 8 years of industry experience.
• Strong knowledge of Chemistry.
• Degree in Environmental Sciences or Chemistry.
