Job summary

EllisDon Corporation in Toronto, ON is seeking an Environmental Coordinator to lead environmental policies on Heavy Civil construction projects, coordinating with internal teams and external consultants to manage environmental impacts and ensure compliance. You will conduct site inspections, stop work when needed, help develop Environmental Management Plans, and maintain EMS documentation.

A bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or environment and 1–2 years in a similar role in construction

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, environment or equivalent.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and experience coordinating with regulatory agencies.
• 1–2 years’ experience in a similar construction role; experience with heavy civil projects is a plus.
• Knowledge of environmental aspects, risks and control measures on civil/infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementing EllisDon’s environmental policies and practices on heavy civil projects.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and external consultants to manage project environmental impacts.
• Perform site environmental inspections and report conformance with Environmental Management Plans.
• Stop work when activities may breach laws or commitments.
• Develop EMS documentation and guide teams through permits and EMS improvements.
• Create Excel tracking sheets for environmental requirements and regulatory compliance.
